Merry Christmas

Hey there!!! I had a bit of play time this morning and had noticed the recent Fall to Layout and thought it would be perfect for creating some CAS Christmas cards. For my card, I've used the Stamping Bella set called  Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and a die from Dee's Distinctively dies.

I'm off to work so have a great day!!!!

Do the impossible

Hi there!!! I had a little bit of free time this morning so I decided to play with the current Fall to Layout before I head to work. I loved the simplicity of the sketch but also the fact that it allows for a bit of fun and able to create a graphic looking card. For my card, I used three different Stamping Bella sets including Mini Bubble Wrap Mesh and French Script for the green polkadots, and Java Spills for the blue circles. I then used the sentiment from the set called "Twirl". I love how they all came together for a fun card. Hope you like it!!!

See you Friday for my Bellarific Friday card :-)

Please be my nothing

Hi there!! It's been another quiet week on my blog. I decided to enjoy the recent long weekend and not even go near my craft stuff so that I could enjoy time with family and friends. It was a much needed break.... I had a bit of free time yesterday before heading to work so I decided to make a card using the current Fall to Layout. I've had this flower in my stash for quite some time so I decided to use it finally. I can't keep hoarding my crafty stuff. I then paired it with a sentiment from the Stamping Bella set called Uptown Couple Emily and Ryan under the umbrella. I love how simply elegant the card is :-)

Thanks for popping by today!! I'll be back tomorrow with my Bellarific Friday card.

TSG Sneak Peek - It's a Jungle out there

It's our final day of sneak peeks for this month's TSG release and it's another fantastic one.

You LOVED her Zoo-pendous set, and well, everything else she has created, but I REALLY think Melyssa has KNOCKED this one out of the park!! Whether making a card for a boy or girl, man or woman, or scrapbooking your latest trip to the zoo, there is something in her new Jungle Out There set for you!! Full of the CUTEST animals, and most HILARIOUS sentiments, what’s NOT to love??

I decided to go clean and simple with this card using the current Fall to Layout.  I have colored the lion using Prismacolor pencils and the Gamsol technique.  I'm really loving the look of the pencils and will keep practicing. The sentiments that come with this set are fantastic!! Jeanie Whitmer (one of my stamping idols) has her "That's Krafty Thursday" challenge going on so I'm entering my card into her challenge.
Jungle Out There is a 6x8 set that includes a total of 20 stamps and will sell for $24.00.

Would you like to win the new Jungle Out There stamp set? Here is what you need to do- visit the Trendsetter’s blogs that are participating in each of the blog hop challenges below and comment on their creations as you go. One of the Trendsetter’s blogs (from each hop day) will be randomly chosen as the ‘it’ blog and a winner will be picked using a random number generator from the comments left on that Trendsetter’s Blog Hop Challenge post.

You will not know which blog has been chosen so the more you comment on the better your chances are of winning new stamps! The Blog Hop Challenges will be open until 5 PM Eastern Time Saturday, March 31st with the winner being announced during the release party chat.

SBEBC For YOU

If you are looking for my Ribbon Carousel Challenge post, please click here.

If you are looking for my There She Goes sneak Peek, please click here.

This week at "Essential Sketches", our challenge is to create a card with patterned paper.  This was easy for me because we all know how much I love my patterned paper.  It's like we were made to go together!! Separated at birth perhaps? LOL!!

I wanted to do something a little different, so I decided to use the large stamp from the set "Bird Background" in Versamark and then embossed it with clear embossing powder on the pink panel. It adds a bit more dimension to the patterned paper without being bold.  I then stamped the sentiment from the set in black ink.  The layout for my card comes from this week's Fall to Layout.

I think this card lends itself to being able to adapt it for so many different occasions.

Happy Birthday Jessica!!

Hey there!!!  I'm so excited about today's blog hop in honour of our fearless leader at There She Goes, Jessica!!! It's her birthday (well actually it's on the 24th but with the TSG sneak peeks starting tomorrow), so we wanted her to have a day all to herself with past and present Trendsetters as well as some of our fabulous customers.  I'm the first stop on the hop today so grab your coffee and maybe a bit of birthday cake or how about a cupcake and enjoy the eye candy for Jessica!!!

I had an absolute blast making my card today using the set called "Make A Wish.  The fabulous cupcake was watercolored with Tombow Markers, paper pieced the liner and then added Mini Micro beads to the icing and a bit of Fruit Punch Stickles.  I've used this week's Fall to Layout and considering I'm becoming hooked with CAS cards, I decided to use this week's CAS-ual Friday challenge of using Bling.

I've had the honour of getting to know Jessica through TSG and we've gotten together a couple of times with some of the other Trendsetters.  Jessica is one of the nicest and funniest people I know and I'm thrilled that I can call her my friend.  Love ya Jessica!!!! Happy Birthday!!!!  Your card will be in the mail as soon as Canada Post decides whether to go on strike or not.

Your next stop on the hop today is Anita, one of our fab customers at There She Goes.

I've included the list of participants today so if there is a break in the hop, you'll know where to head next.

Are you Shabby Chic?

Wow! What an amazing group of entries in the Ribbon Carousel Challenge last week!!  We were blown away by all the eye candy.
For this week's challenge,  we’re talking shabby... vintage... shabby chic!!!  How are you going to get shabby?  With lace of course!!!   Pull out those pretties that we all have (and I’m sure hoard) and use them on your card.  Add some texture to your card, perhaps with distressing, using your embossing folders,  sponging.  Make that lace pop!!

I had fun making this card, keeping it relatively clean and simple...  (as simple as I sometimes get) - the layout for my card is inspired by this week's Fall to Layout.  For my card, I was inspired by this K & Company that I've had for quite sometime. It just screamed shabby and vintage to me with its' texture and colours. I decided to use the TSG set called "Sentimental Thank You" that I stamped in Chocolate Chip ink. I pulled out some of my crocheted lace trim, a few crocheted flowers, a button, a bit of linen thread and of course those blue pearls.  Cuteness....

We’d love for you to participate!!!  Please remember that your creation MUST have ribbon, bakers twine, jute twine, lace (basically anything that comes on a spool).   Make sure you link up with us using InLinkz at the Ribbon Carousel Challenge Blog.  If you are uploading to an only gallery make sure you use the keyword RCC2.  Remember – that you don’t need a blog to participate in our challenge.  Each week we will have a “Top Spool” !!
Thanks for popping by today :-)

TSG105 Flower Fun

May.... I can't believe it's May already....  And with all those showers we had in April, I'm sure there will be plenty of pretty flowers in May here.  Let's hope so anyway!!!  And what better way to celebrate May with flowers... 3D flowers, that is!  This week's challenge at There She Goes is brought to us by Tammy, one of our new Trendsetters and can I say one thing?  That girl has talent!!!  She wants to see your use of gorgeous and versatile 3D flowers. You can use poofy flowers, diecut flowers, Primas, felt, or crocheted flowers…let your imaginations run wild! We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

I've been using a lot of 3D flowers lately so I decided, I wanted to something a little different and so some clean and simple stamping.  I followed this week's sketch over at the Clean and Simple Blog (aka Fall to Layouts) although I put my sentiment in the lower right hand corner instead of the upper left.  Just had to be a rebel.... LOL... Actually, I had looked at the sketch yesterday and in my silly little head I was certain the sentiment was in the lower corner.  Oops.... I've stamped various flowers from the TSG set called "Polka Dot Blooms" in SU Inks (Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise, Soft Sky, Old Olive and Pink Piroutte).  I then added a sentiment from the set called "Everyday Greetings".  I stamped the Old Olive flower again and embossed it with clear embossing powder before cutting it out and popping it up (that's my 3D flower). To add a bit of interest, I decided to add a little bit of bling to the center of each of the flowers.  Love it!!

We'd love for you to participate in this challenge.  All you need to do is create a card using 3D flowers and link it up using the InLinkz at the TSG blog.  If you upload to an online gallery, remember to use the keyword TSG105.  Don't forget that the random winner will win $5 to the TSG store and someone has the opportunity to be in the Trendsetting Spotlight.

On another note, don't forget about the "Out with the Old" Sale.  This is a great way to get previously released sets at a discount and who doesn't love a discount?

Thanks for dropping by and have a wonderful day.

High in the Sky

I had a bit of free time on Friday morning and was in a bit of a card making mood but the severe headache I had.... well that didn't lend itself to fancy cards, so clean and simple it was....

As soon as I saw this week's Fall to Layout, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. Out came my MS Butterfly punch, a bit of Echo Park DP, some Rose Bud Memento Ink (that I sponged around the edges of each butterfly) and the TSG stamp set called "Spread Your Wings".  I've had it for months and finally used it...You'll be seeing it again soon I'm sure.

For my second card, I used last week's Fall to Layout, the TSG stamp set "Aim for the Clouds", the MFT Kite Die-namic and easy peasy... a fun, simple card.

Are you a fan of There She Goes?  Want to partcipate in the "Mother of all Blog Hops"?  The hop will happen over two days (May 7th and 8th) and there are over $400 in prizes?  We'd love for you to join us for this annual event!! All of the details are on the TSG blog (in the MOABH link just above).

Thanks for dropping by!!!

FTL127 Welcome Baby

Well hello there!! I hope you're all enjoying a nice beautiful Sunday!  It's finally stopped raining here - yesterday it was torrential downpours for most of the day and now today the sun is shining.  Wahoo!!  I had a chance to sit down this morning to play so I decided to color up Puddle Jumper Baby Addy from Lori Boyd Designs.  I had this DP sitting on my desk (well not sitting on my desk but it was in the leaning tower of craft supplies - I'm currently re-organizing my craft area so let's just say it's a disaster area) so I decided why not use up the scraps?  Both DP's have been dry embossed with Cuttlebug folders and the image has been watercolored with my Tombow Markers.  I love the soft look to the image combined with the DP. For the layout of my card, I've used this week's Fall to Layout at Clean and Simple Stamping.  Hope you like it!!

I'm off to finish cleaning up my craft area and of course make another card to procrastinate (Have I mentioned I hate cleaning!!!).

TSG90 A bear full of love

There are several techniques that are essential for stampers to have in their arsenal, and this week Corinna is our Trendsetter of the Week at There She Goes. wants us to make sure that wet embossing is one of them! Pull out your heat gun along with some embossing powders and get busy! You can emboss a solid image on your creation, emboss an outlined image and watercolor it, or showcase another wet embossing technique…your choices are endless!

Well.... I kinda took the easy way out didn't I???  Don't shoot the messenger okay?  When I watercolor, I always end up using Versafine Onyx Black Ink and Clear Detail Embossing Powder so that it gives you a "dam" ask Kim Teasdale would say. It allows you to be able to watercolor without going outside the lines... And believe me... I tend to like to color outside the lines. For my card,  I've used two sets from There She Goes, Bear Hugs and Sending my Love (for the sentiment). I thought that this could make a cute Valentine's card for a child or a friend.  The DP is from Pebbles (it was one of my finds on Saturday at my LSS).  It's been awhile since I've done a CAS card and it feels good to be making one again.

To be eligible for the giveaway, you are to create a card that utilizes wet embossing techniques, and then go to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the InLinkz that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (Jan 24th). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

By participating in this challenge, you may also find yourself in the Trendsetting Spotlight that shines on the TSG Blog every Thursday. We will be on the look out to find challenge cards that stand out and show Trendsetting qualities. TSG stamps are not required to participate in the challenges but are appreciated :)

You do not need to have a blog to be able to participate in the TSG Challenges! You can simply add the URL link from your project after it has been uploaded to your online craft gallery. If you upload your card to an online craft gallery, please use the keyword TSG90 so we can check out your beautiful work!

Have a great day!!!

FTL119 Season's Greetings

Are you enjoying my Christmas card making marathon I've been showing you this week?  I figured if I had to make a bunch of cards, then I wanted to be able to participate in a variety of challenges out there in blog land.  And if you know me.... I love a sketch!!! This card is based on this week's layout from the Clean and Simple Blog - Fall To Layouts. I enjoy making Clean and Simple cards, I just don't make enough of them.  I love the look of white space (or Kraft space I guess I should say).  The image and sentiment are from the new There She Goes set, Season's Greetings. I love the whimsical look of this set and the snowpeople are my favorite image in the set.  Not too much to explain with this card... great layout, DP from Cosmo Cricket's Mitten Weather, ribbon and button treatment and there you have it.  Easy peasy... lemon squeezy.  Okay I'm a dork... I'll admit it.

TSG76 From the Heart

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my Canadian readers!! Hope you're having a wonderful day with family and friends, with turkey and pumpkin pie.  Yum Yum Yum!!!  Not only is it Thanksgiving, it's time for this week's challenge at There She GoesPiali has come up with a recipe for you:  your card needs to have a Kraft base, use black and white as well as a pop of color. Your card also needs dry embossing somewhere on it!!!  Think embossing folders (that's what I did!!). I've gone for a more clean and simple card using this week's Fall to Layout.  The flowers that have been stamped in Rose Bud Memento ink are from the mini set called Kindred Spirits and the sentiment is from Everyday Greetings

We'd love for you to join us in this challenge!!! To be eligible for the giveaway, you are to create a card that uses the following recipe then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the InLinkz that is located at the bottom of the challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (10-18-2010). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

FTL110 Simply Snowing

I was in the mood to do a little stamping last night but didn't have the time to do any coloring so I decided to go clean and simple with this week's Fall to Layout (FTL110).  I've stamped the various snowflakes from Snow Flourishes (a new release from Clear Dollar Stamps) in Soft Sky and then added blue rhinestones to the center of each snowflake.  I decided to for-go (did I spell that right?) the sentiment because I haven't decided if this will be one of my Christmas cards this year or not.

Stamps/Images: Snow Flourishes

Cardstock/Papers:Kraft, Baja Breeze, Gina K white
Inks/Markers: Soft Sky
Accents/Tools: Rhinestones, ribbon, button, embroidery thread

Hope you have a great day!!!

Live Laugh Love

I was blog surfing today and loved a card that Heather Pulvirenti made for the Fall To Layout Challenge #96 so I decided to play along. If you know me at all, you will know that I am not a CAS girl. I like my layers, my embellishments... I try to avoid white space... But when I see a CAS card, that's what draws me in!! All that white space!!! Crazy I know!!!  So I thought... why not try??  What harm would it do?  This card took about 5 minutes... Now I understand CAS.... It's nice and quick!  I bought this Marigold stamp by Amuse last month at my local stamp store and it's been waiting to see some ink so I brought out my Rose Bud Memento ink and inked away...  I know that with this challenge that the white space of the card should have had multiple images and that the sentiment should have been below the black matting section but you know me... I had to alter the challenge...to make it fit for me. The sentiment is an old one from Daisy Bucket Designs and I think it worked well for this card.  Hope you like it and remember... Live Laugh Love!! It's what life is all about.
