Merry and Bright

This card uses a few of the images from Shawne Arnold's set called Jolly and Joy from Clear Dollar stamps. It's a pretty versatile set with lots of goodies. I tried to keep the card clean and simple as I'll be sending this one away as a Christmas card and who wants to pay extra postage for a bulky card? I colored the ornaments with my Tombow markers and then coated them in Glossy Accents to make them shiny. I'm wishing now that I had somehow done a crackle finish on them instead. Do you remember those fancy ornaments when you were growing up? I think my brother and I managed to break a few over the years. Oops!

Ability to Accessorize

I've been pretty busy this month so I haven't had too much time for just having fun stamping. I've had this stamp set for quite awhile from Skipping Stones Design but it hasn't seen much ink lately. I was in the mood to create something girly, sassy and fun! Kinda matches my personality!! (peanut gallery need not comment ;-) Hehehehe....

Isn't this black glitter paper from American Crafts great? Believe it or not, I found it at the dollar store awhile back and it was 4 sheets for $1! Score!!!! I'm always looking for a bargain ( I know I'm not the only person who would rather spend money on stamps, DP and embellishments before clothes) so of course I loaded up on the paper in way too many colors.

I've stamped the images in Versafine Onyx Black and colored with my Tombow Markers. So loving this color combo! I've tried to keep the card relatively simple and clean to keep the focus where it should be. This layout is based on this card by Shannan Teubner.

Heather of Skipping Stones Design has a way with fun and sassy sets with a unique sense of humor. I've fallen in love and can't wait until I have more of her sets to play with. Make sure you check out her Facebook group for pics of all the sets. You'll get a kick out of them and I'm sure you'll fall in love too.

Sparkle and Bling List:

Paper: Gina K Luxury White, Black Glitter American Crafts DP, Bo Bunny DP, Making Memories DP, Watercolor Paper
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Basic Black
Accessories: Nestabilities, Tombow Markers, Aquapainter, Rhinestones from Making Memories, Clear Detail Embossing Powder

You slid into my life

You slid into my life and warmed my heart!!! Isn't that just the cutest sentiment? This card uses a new set by Wendy Hall for Clear Dollar Stamps called Just Chillin'. I've been trying to go Clean and Simple lately and love the look of Kraft paper as a base on cards. I've cut the Jolly by Golly Cosmo Cricket DP to make it look like snow drifts. I notice someone do this on SCS but unfortunately I didn't favorite the card so I have no clue as to who it was. Sorry.... Can I just say how much fun Flower Soft is - I've now used it on a few cards and love the look of it.

Roots and Wings

I'm not a mom yet but can I just say I love this new set from Kim Teasdale called Welcome to Parenthood from Clear Dollar Stamps. This set comes with cute sentiments that are both fun and quirky while some are definitely heartfelt. I've paired this set with one of the pixies from Playful Pixies as I knew I wanted to use an image involving wings. I'm so in love with Basic Grey DP and the Indian Summer Line I think may be my most favorite line ever - I love the tones in it.

Into the holiday spirit

Wow! It's been a busy week. I can't believe we are a week into November and this is my first post! Oops! I'm slowly getting in the Holiday spirit with Christmas Craft Fairs popping up all over the place. My mom and I will be going to our favorite one later on this morning and then out for brunch after. So I pulled out a card I made for the recent Clear Dollar Stamps Release for the set Dog Days Celebrations by Kim Teasdale. Isn't it just too cute? I love the images and the sentiments from this set are great too! Hope you like it!

CDS Sneak Peek - Cocoa - It's a wonderful life

Each month, Clear Dollar Stamps releases "singles" which are single stamps that are "dollar stamps". Now where else can you buy adorable stamps for so little? I can tell you, I have some on my stocking stuffer list (for myself of course). My first samples shows the cup of cocoa and a sentiment stamp "It's a Wonderful life". You're probably asking why I decided to pair these two together? Well.... I'm a sucker for a nice Peppermint Hot Chocolate on those cold fall and winter mornings. If any of my friends are reading this - I'd like a Venti, non fat, extra hot Peppermint Hot Chocolate, still with whip. Hehehehe.... can you tell I start some mornings at Starbucks????

My second samples shows the cup of cocoa that I have stamped three times. I thought it looked really neat this way, especially with the whip on top and the Crystal Effects on the mugs.

CDS Sneak Peek - Welcome to Parenthood.

Welcome to Parenthood is the newest release for Kim Teasdale at Clear Dollar Stamps available November 1st. Kim has a fun sense of humor and this set shows just that. I love this sentiment - "Cleaning your house while your kids are still growing, is like shoveling the walk before it stops snowing". How funny is that???? I had to laugh at it as it reminds me of my stepdad who once it starts snowing, I swear he's out in the driveway shoveling all the snow away. I know he has a method to this madness (the snow's lighter, less to shovel at once but I just don't like shoveling snow). Last winter, I had my stepdad help me shovel at my house ( he felt bad for me because I couldn't get my car in the driveway). I've combined the sentiment with one of the houses from another CDS set called Nice Neighborhood.
