CDS Sneak Peek - You're my Peep

Hey there Chickies!!! Today is the last day of Sneak Peeks for Clear Dollar Stamps before you can purchase this month's releases tomorrow. Shawne Arnold has come up with this really cute Spring/Easter stamp set that I fell in love with as soon as I saw it. I had so much fun coloring the image with my Tombow Markers - I really want to go for bright! My favorite thing about Spring are all the bright colors especially all the flowers that are starting to bloom. I used an old Mojo Monday Sketch for my layout which I tried to keep relatively simple.

CDS Sneak Peek - Hey Diddle Diddle

Who doesn't love the nursery rhyme, Hey Diddle Diddle? I loved it as a child and now that Kim Teasdale has created a to cute stamp set with it for Clear Dollar Stamps I'm in love. This set will be available February 1st so make sure you check out all the new releases. This set comes with some of the cutest images with a sense of whimsy to them. For my first card, I've used the plate and spoon (how creative is that?? Kim rocked this image out) and colored them with my Tombow Markers. I've kept this card clean and simple as possible because I wanted the focus to be on the image and the rhyme.

CDS SETS USED: Hey Diddle Diddle

INK: Versafine Onyx Black
MARKERS: Tombow Markers

For my second card, I've used the Moon as well as a star that comes in the set. I love how Kim made the moon -it just looks so peaceful. Once again I've colored the image with my Tombow Markers and then I've added stickles to the star as well as the dots on the moon's cap. This set is fabulous for any kid's birthday or for a shower gift. Who doesn't want to be transported back to their childhood with this fantastic set?

CDS Sneak Peek - Peace for the Journey

Welcome back to Day 2 of Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Peeks for our February 1st release. I'm still amazed that this month has gone so quickly. I've had quite a few struggles this month in my life and I believe you are given more than you can handle to test your strength and ability to keep going. I've definitely been seeing more of my spiritual side coming out and it feels great. Lori McCroskey has created this beautiful set called Peace for the Journey - it's great because in each image there are words within. In the flower is "God is Love". Cool eh?

I was inspired by my Designer paper for this card and I love the clean look to it - it all blends together so well. I used a sketch I found online but forgot to write down where it was from and now can't find it. So if it was your sketch or know which blog had it, let me know so I can include it. Thanks everyone!

I've made another sample using this set which I'll show on my blog next week.

CDS SETS USED: Peace for the Journey
CARDSTOCK AND PAPERS: Gina K White, Old Olive, Soft Sky, Making Memories DP, Watercolor paper

ACCENTS AND TOOLS: Nestabilities, Clear Detail Embossing Powder, Sponge, Ribbon, Embroidery Thread, Button, MS Loopy Border Punch

The CDS girls have come up with amazing samples for you to check out today so without further adieu, here are links to everyone's blogs:

CDS Sneak Peek - Once upon a wall

WOW!! I can't believe how fast this month has gone! This is my second post of the day for the Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Peeks available February 1st. Isn't this set just too cute? It's called Once upon a Wall and has been illustrated by the amazing Kim Teasdale (she has another great set that I'll be showing in a couple of days). This set comes with Humpty Dumpty on the wall and I've used the image after he's fallen. I love the look on his face - it has that "What just happened" look to it and the sentiment is just too fun.

CDS SETS USED: Once Upon A Wall
CARDSTOCK AND PAPERS: Gina K Luxury White, Dusty Durango, Little Yellow Bicycle DP, Basic Grey DP, Watercolor paper
INK: Versafine Onyx Black
MARKERS: Tombow Markers
ACCENTS AND TOOLS: Nestabilities, Tombow Markers, Aquapainter, Ribbon, Embroidery Thread, Button, Clear Detail Embossing Powder

CDS Sneak Peek - Bitty Botanicals

It's that time again.... wow... this month has just flown by. I can't believe we are at Day 1 of sneak peeks for Clear Dollar Stamps February 1st release. Laurie Wilson has created this beautiful set called Bitty Botanicals that has gorgeous flowers in it and will definitely be one of my go to sets for quick simple cards. I made some candles over the Christmas holidays for my mom so I thought that it would be a great idea for this set. I've combined it with a previously released set called Peony (used the sentiment from it). Hope you like it!!! Stay tuned for another sneak peek that I will have for you in a few hours.

CDS SETS USED: Bitty Botanicals, Peony

SSD09 Live the Life

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in the last week (it's been a long time since I have done that) but I was trying to get my sneak peeks for Clear Dollar Stamps done by deadline so I was creating a lot of goodies behind the scenes. So without further adieu.... Guess what day it is!!! Skipping Stones Sketch Tuesday! Wow I can't believe this month has gone by so fast and that it is Amy Sheffer's last week with us. :-( Amy has been one of my stamping idols for a long time so I've loved working with her sketches this month.

Check out this week's sketch - it's fabulous!!!

I ended up making my card to be 4 1/2 x 8. Why? Well....I had this fantastic idea to use this really cool wooden flower that I bought at Pier 1 Imports over the weekend and it was rather big so I had to adjust the size of the card to fit the flower. I was going to have the butterfly from Healing Wings popped up off the flower. Well... Things didn't go exactly as planned. In other words, the flower looked ridiculous! I like how my card turned out in the end though - I matted the layers a few times behind the main image and then used my Blossom Nestabilities to finish it off. Can I just tell you how in love with Distress Inks I now am in? I am loving them! See the cool looking border I have on the edge of the card. Can you believe I bought that punch at Michael's before Christmas and didn't realize I even owned it until I opened up one of the my punch drawers and saw it sitting there.

Sparkle and Bling List:
Stamps: Healing Wings by Skipping Stones Design
Paper: Gina K Luxury White, Kiwi Kiss, Rose Red, Basic Grey DP
Ink: Old Olive, Pink Pirouette, Worn Lipstick Distress Ink
Accessories: Nestabilities, Versamark, Clear Detail Embossing Powder, Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, Curved Lattice MS Punch

SSD08 "Bra"visimo!!!

Tuesday has become my favorite day of the week!!! Why? Well... It's Skipping Stones Sketch Tuesday and who doesn't love getting their juices flowing with a great sketch? Amy Sheffer has created a great sketch this week although it took my awhile to figure out what images to use... I'm feeling kinda silly here as I write this blog post. I just realized that for the last couple of weeks I have been spelling Amy's last name wrong!!! OOPS!!!!!!! I'm so sorry, Amy! Forgive me???

I love the set called Funny Bras Vol. 1. Apparently a lot of you do too because it keeps selling out at Skipping Stones Design. If it's something you've been thinking about, I'd get it before it's gone again. I've colored the image using my Tombow markers and a waterbrush. I've cheated a little bit on the sketch but when don't I??? I made the card square thinking it would make things fit better but realized when the card was together it squishes everything together a little bit but I still love it anyway! Did you notice what's below the bow? A bra charm that I bought awhile back. It's been waiting for just the right card to appear on.

Sparkle and Bling List:
Stamps: Funny Bras Vol. 1 by Skipping Stones Design
Paper: Gina K Luxury White, Chocolate Chip, Rose Red, Indian Summer Basic Grey DP, Watercolor paper
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Basic Black
Accessories: Nestabilities, Tombow Markers, Aquapainter, Clear Detail Embossing Powder, Ribbon, Buttons, Embroidery Thread, Charm

Celebrating a New Life - Bella Style

Isn't she lovely??? I think this may be my favorite Bella ever released. I know I have probably said that before but honestly, this one is amazing!!!! I've made this card for my friend Heather who will be having her first baby in the next couple of weeks. As you can see, Heather knows that the baby is a girl which made making the card so much more fun. I love when you can make a baby card that isn't gender neutral. Because Heather knows the sex of the baby, her shower is this weekend and by the time you are reading this, she will already have this card ( I didn't want to post it before the shower just in case she saw it).

As you can tell, I've also stamped the inside of the card (sorry for the bad pic - I couldn't get a good one of it). I love this sentiment from a Verve set called "Asian Flair". I thought it was perfect for someone who will be experiencing something so beautiful in the next couple of weeks. The present in the corner is from a Hanna Stamp set but I can't remember which one.

Sparkle and Bling List:
Stamps: Babycarriage-a-Bella by Stamping Bella, Asian Flair by Verve, Hanna Stamps (present stamp)
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Rose Red
Paper: Gina K Luxury White, Melon Mambo, Chocolate Chip, Bo Bunny Love Bandit DP (I'm addicted to this line), watercolor paper
Accessories: Clear Detail Embossing Powder, Nestabilities, Tombow Markers, Aquapainter, MS Lattice Border Punch

MTSC56 Meets Bellarific Friday

It's been another busy week so when I saw what this week's Stamping Bella's Bellarific Friday challenge was (it's all about love as there is a lovey dovey release today) I decided to combine the challenge with Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge. Yeah yeah yeah.... I know what you're saying! Mercy's challenge was on Tuesday but guess what.... I'm still playing! So ha.... Just kidding! How could I miss a Mercy Sketch Challenge??? They rock!

I pulled out Beebee Bittybloom.... she hasn't seen enough ink and she was screaming from a drawer that she wanted to come out and play for this week's challenge. I've colored her with my Tombow Markers (I've just bought some Copics but I'm afraid to color with the darn things). I tried to keep the colors relatively simple so that Beebee pops.

Hope you like it!!!

Sparkle and Bling List:
Stamps: Beebee Bittybloom by Stamping Bella
Paper: Regal Rose, Gina K Luxury White, Bo Bunny Double Dots Paper, Fancy Pants DP, Watercolor paper
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories: Tombow Markers, Aquapainter, Clear Detail Embossing Powder, Buttons, Embroidery Thread, Ribbon

You're so sweet!!!

My cousin Tara had a baby boy over the holidays so I thought I'd give this card to her as part of a baby shower gift. I wanted to keep it clean and simple (something I don't do quite often enough). The image and sentiment come from a new set called Toybox Time from Clear Dollar Stamps. Isn't it just too cute??? The images are nice and small so they make for quick and easy cards for a baby shower, baby gift, or young children. I think it will be one of my go to sets now.

CDS STAMPS USED: Toybox Time
CS/PAPERS: Gina K White, Chocolate Chip, Dusty Durango, Basic Grey DP, Watercolor paper

SSD07 Trio of Purses

Wow!!!! Wasn't the blog hop fun last week??? It was fabulous seeing so many wonderful creations using Skipping Stones Design Stamps!!! And didn't Amy Scheffer do a fabulous job with her sketch for the Design Team? Amy is back at it again this week with another amazing sketch for Skipping Stones Sketch Tuesday! I could gush about how much I love Amy's work -okay... I'll gush! Amy has a style like no other. It's amazing! I'm always blown away with her beautiful creations - no card she makes ever looks alike yet I can always recognize a "Pickletree" card.

You know me.... I always find a way to change things up a bit and I just had to flip the sketch upside down. You're probably wondering what set I'm using???? It's a set called "Well Behaved" from Skipping Stones Design that isn't yet available. It will be released at some point in the future. It's such a fun set - one of my faves actually. But then again I love anything girly. I made another card with it back in November in the post called "Ability to Accessorize".

Sparkle and Bling List:
Stamps: Well Behaved from Skipping Stones Design
Paper: Gina K Luxury White, Old Olive, Rose Red, Love Bandit Collection from Bo Bunny, Watercolor paper
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories: Clear Detail Embossing Powder, Tombow Markers, Aquapainter, Ribbon, Buttons, Embroidery Thread, Pop Dots, Nestabilities

I've been a blob...

Hehehe.... Isn't this little blob of a monster just too cute???? I love him!!!! I made this card for Clear Dollar Stamps January Release but haven't had the opportunity to post it quite yet. He's from the set called Monster Mash which was illustrated by Laurie Wilson. I've been having a rough time lately and I'm sure I haven't been the nicest to everyone so I thought I'd give this to someone special in my life that I've taken some of my frustrations out on. I know my mom will get a kick out of it and put a smile on her face. I just have to smile every time I look at this cute little guy.

CDS STAMPS USED: Monster Mash

Later Gator

Isn't this gator just way too cute? I made this card using a new release called Critter Tales from Clear Dollar Stamps. I had so much fun making this card - I only wish I could find more of this paper!!! It is some of my most favorite paper I've ever found - love the colors, pattern - love it all. I kept the card relatively simple wanting to make sure the gator was highlighted and the focus of the card. Have you ever eaten gator??? I tried it once when I lived in North Carolina - still shocks me that it was on the menu at one of the restaurants in the town I lived in. It's not something you'd get living here in Canada.

CDS STAMPS USED: Critter Tales
CS/PAPERS: Gina K White, Baja Breeze, Old Olive, Scenic Route DP, Watercolor paper
INK: Versafine Onyx Black
ACCENTS/TOOLS: Aquapainter, Tombow Markers, Nestabilities, Ribbon, Swirly Clip, Copic Marker (Blue), Clear Detail Embossing Powder
COLORING: Watercoloring with Tombow markers

MTSC55 Espresso my Gratitude

Can I just say I'd like a do-over for 2010 so far??? Let's just say this year hasn't started off how I had expected - lots of life changes going on (and some of them not by choice). I was having a really hard day on Monday but had already made plans to get together with a girlfriend for coffee. I thought about cancelling but knew it was too late to do so. All I can say is going for coffee was the best thing I could have done. It got me out of my funk and gave me a chance to realize what wonderful things life have in store for me. Gillian really knows how to inspire a person and she's inspired me to make some major changes.

So I thought I'd make a special card for Gillian to thank her for coffee the other night. Gillian has always been a great source of inspiration and she is definitely what I needed that night. Does that make any sense?

Guess who else is a great source for artistic inspiration??? Mercy of course!!! I don't get to participate in Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenges as often as I'd like but once I knew what images I wanted to use from the Coffee Vol. 1 set from Skipping Stones Design I checked out Mercy's blog and this week's sketch totally fit.

My card uses the Coffee Cup from the Coffee Vol. 1 set which I have paper pieced using some paper from the new Basic Grey line called Origins. I'm addicted to Basic Grey so as soon as my LSS got it in, I was there right away. Believe me, if you don't buy the 6x6 packs right away - there's no chance to get them right away locally.

Sparkle and Bling List:
Stamps: Coffee Vol. 1 by Skipping Stones Design
Paper: Gina K Luxury White, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Basic Grey "Origins" DP
Ink: Basic Black, Peeled Paint Distress Ink
Accessories: Loopy Border Punch, Nestabilities, Ribbon
