I've been so busy lately (working full time and trying to spend time with my parents before they head off on a great two month adventure to Australia and New Zealand). Can you believe I just had a 4 day weekend and it was even busier than normal? Who knew that helping people get ready to go away would be so much work? Both my mom and stepdad will be celebrating milestone birthdays while they are away (My mom will be 65 and my stepdad will be 70). So I decided I would try to get a couple of cards made for while they are away. My stepdad has always been a constant in my life so when I saw the set, Dadisms from There She Goes, I just had to have it. I spent much of the day Sunday at my craft desk creating away so that I could have a few things to share with you this week on my blog.
I've watercolored the image with my Tombow Markers and then decided to paper piece the dad's shirt. Now if my stepdad wore a sweater this ugly, I'd be sure to make sure we threw it away!!!! No ugly old man sweaters for my stepdad. The colors for my card were inspired by the Imaginesce DP that I picked up on a way too expensive trip to our LSS. My BFF Kim and I went and you should have seen my eyes bug out at my total.... It was painful!! But needless to say, I have a huge new stack of DP and I'm loving it!!!!!
I'll be giving this card to my mom so that she can give it to Brian on his Bday. To all the great men in our lives, THANK YOU!!!!
