A little ribbon love...

Hey there everyone!!! Sorry about the lack of posting on my blog in the last week.  It's been a busy one and not much crafting time going on here.  However, I've decided to start going back to one of the first hobbies I ever had (and one of my first jobs)  which is making jewelry.  Believe it or not, I worked at a bead store for my first three years at university and once I quit there, away went the beads and the hobby totally died.  But lately, I've been trying to figure out new passions to expand my creativity.  You must be wondering why I'm rambling on and on and on... right?  Well, this week at the Ribbon Carousel Challenge, it's an "Anything Goes" week so I knew this would be the perfect opportunity to get out my newly acquired goodies and create!!

Wanna see what I created for you lovelies today?

And the best part is the ribbon!!! I've been on a yellow craze lately ( I swear I've worn yellow at least once or twice a week). I found these beads a few weeks ago and thought they'd make the perfect necklace.

I made this fab lace flower as well!! Yeah me!!  I followed the tutorial for it that I found at the Tatertots and Jello blog that I discovered recently.

We'd love for you to participate in this week's "Anything Goes" at the Ribbon Carousel Challenge blog.  So head on over there to check out what the Carousel Crew has created this week for a bit of inspiration.

TSG Sneak Peek - Once upon a Time

Welcome to Day three of Sneak peeks for June's release at There She Goes!  Haven't the sets been wonderful this month?  So much fun and whimsy and today's sneak peek is no exception.

Needing a fairytale moment? Let this Prince and Princess escort you to a land far away! These wonderfully illustrated images from Di Carubia were designed to create a number of different scenes that you will enjoy using time and time again.

For my card today, I've used one of the images (the princess of course) because I know we all want to be princesses right?  Agree with me... please... It'll make me feel better. LOL... I've watercolored the image with my Tombow markers (are you surprised???) and then added a bit of Yellow Stickles to her crown.  And a little bit of bling on her necklace to top off my princess look.

Once Upon  a Time  is a 4x8 stamp set that includes a total of 15 of stamps and will sell for $18.
Would you like your own "Once upon a Time"? Here’s what you need to do- go to each of the Trendsetter’s Blogs and leave a comment on their Once upon a Time Blog Hop Challenge post. For my card today, I've watercolored the image with my Tombow markers and kept the layout relatively simple.  I must be going through a green and pink phase.... I just released I used the same colours yesterday, just different DP.  Oh well... It's a fab colour combo if you ask me.

RCC4 Cupcake Diva

We love cupcakes... but ribbon cupcakes?  Why not?  As soon as we saw this pic on Pinterest, it just had to be an inspiration for one of our challenges at the Ribbon Carousel Challenge.  The colours scream Spring with their intensity.  Love it!!

I've had this fab Addy'tude is a Cupcake Diva from Stamping Bella for quite some time but she hadn't seen any ink... and what could I do?  Of course she had to be used when our inspiration is ribbon cupcakes. I tried to use as many colours from the inspiration photo when looking for my DP (ended up using My Mind's Eye and 3 Bugs in a Rug DP).  I've watercolored the image with my Tombow Markers and then added a little bit of Diamond Stickles to Addy's earrings for a little bit of bling.  My layout is May's SFYTT that I absolutely love and decided I had to use it again.

As you might know, Sparkle is one of our DT members at the Ribbon Carousel challenge  and she has graciously offered Cupcake Ruby to one of the participants this week.  Sparkle's stamps are some of the cutest stamps out there and Sparkle is a sweetheart as well. I had the opportunity to meet Sparkle back in February and we all had a blast together.  Make sure you check out her online store at Sparkle Creations to see what other fabulous stamps she has available.

We'd love for you to participate in this week's Ribbon Carousel challenge.  Please remember that your creation must have ribbon, twine, lace (basically anything that comes on a spool).  If uploading to an online gallery, use the keyword RCC4 so that we can find it.  Each week, we select our "Top Spools" - can't wait to see what you create!!!

Happy Birthday Jessica!!

Hey there!!!  I'm so excited about today's blog hop in honour of our fearless leader at There She Goes, Jessica!!! It's her birthday (well actually it's on the 24th but with the TSG sneak peeks starting tomorrow), so we wanted her to have a day all to herself with past and present Trendsetters as well as some of our fabulous customers.  I'm the first stop on the hop today so grab your coffee and maybe a bit of birthday cake or how about a cupcake and enjoy the eye candy for Jessica!!!

I had an absolute blast making my card today using the set called "Make A Wish.  The fabulous cupcake was watercolored with Tombow Markers, paper pieced the liner and then added Mini Micro beads to the icing and a bit of Fruit Punch Stickles.  I've used this week's Fall to Layout and considering I'm becoming hooked with CAS cards, I decided to use this week's CAS-ual Friday challenge of using Bling.

I've had the honour of getting to know Jessica through TSG and we've gotten together a couple of times with some of the other Trendsetters.  Jessica is one of the nicest and funniest people I know and I'm thrilled that I can call her my friend.  Love ya Jessica!!!! Happy Birthday!!!!  Your card will be in the mail as soon as Canada Post decides whether to go on strike or not.

Your next stop on the hop today is Anita, one of our fab customers at There She Goes.

I've included the list of participants today so if there is a break in the hop, you'll know where to head next.

CAS Twine meets Inspiration...

Wow!! Its three weeks already! Last week at the Ribbon Carousel Challenge, we asked you to add on the layers with your shabby chic creations and this week, you’re going simple, Clean and Simple that is. Clean and Simple is all about the design – having white space but that doesn’t mean you can’t fancy it up with ribbon!

For my card today, I've decided to use this week's Fall to Layout sketch which perfectly with the TSG set "Bug Me Anytime" that I've watercolored with Tombow Markers and then added Diamond Stickles to the edge of the dragonfly's wings. Because I've had so little time this last week I decided to combine the TSG challenge with the Ribbon Carousel Challenge.(I'm normally done my DT cards a few days early and today, I'm writing up this post just a couple of hours before the post goes live) - can you tell I've been busy?    This week's TSG challenge is an inspiration piece (see pic below).  I loved the colors in the inspiration pic so I tried to find some DP that had the same colours and decided to use the My Mind's Eye DP from the Happy go Lucky line.  Love it!!!  With the new "CAS-ual Friday" challenge blog, I knew I wanted to participate and use their challenge this week which is using Buttons and Twine. Easy peasy considering one of our requirements of the Ribbon Carousel Challenge is to use anything that comes on a spool... And I love my Baker's Twine... A little birdie has told me that tons of ribbon will be added to the Ribbon Carousel website any day now.  WAHOO!!!

*** Please remember that your creation must have ribbon, bakers twine, jute twine, lace (basically anything that comes on a spool) to qualify to become a "TOP SPOOL" at The Ribbon Carousel Challenge.  If you are uploading to any online gallery, use the keyword RCC3 so that we can find your project.

Ready for School?

Hey there everyone... wow!!! Blogger has been a pain this week so I haven't had a chance to post my card that I made using the new School Time Landon from Lori Boyd Designs.  This month we are doing things a little differently at LBD.  Each week we will highlight one of the digis from the most recent release.  I've watercolored Landon with my Tombow Markers (imagine that right? LOL) and was able to use the School Spirit Crate Paper DP that I've had for quite some time. Landon seemed just right for it.  The layout for my card came from this week's Card Patterns sketch - love it!!

It's been a busy week this week so hopefully I'll get into my craft cave to make some more eye candy.  I have a fab idea for next week's Ribbon Carousel Challenge...

See you soon.

Are you Shabby Chic?

Wow! What an amazing group of entries in the Ribbon Carousel Challenge last week!!  We were blown away by all the eye candy.
For this week's challenge,  we’re talking shabby... vintage... shabby chic!!!  How are you going to get shabby?  With lace of course!!!   Pull out those pretties that we all have (and I’m sure hoard) and use them on your card.  Add some texture to your card, perhaps with distressing, using your embossing folders,  sponging.  Make that lace pop!!

I had fun making this card, keeping it relatively clean and simple...  (as simple as I sometimes get) - the layout for my card is inspired by this week's Fall to Layout.  For my card, I was inspired by this K & Company that I've had for quite sometime. It just screamed shabby and vintage to me with its' texture and colours. I decided to use the TSG set called "Sentimental Thank You" that I stamped in Chocolate Chip ink. I pulled out some of my crocheted lace trim, a few crocheted flowers, a button, a bit of linen thread and of course those blue pearls.  Cuteness....

We’d love for you to participate!!!  Please remember that your creation MUST have ribbon, bakers twine, jute twine, lace (basically anything that comes on a spool).   Make sure you link up with us using InLinkz at the Ribbon Carousel Challenge Blog.  If you are uploading to an only gallery make sure you use the keyword RCC2.  Remember – that you don’t need a blog to participate in our challenge.  Each week we will have a “Top Spool” !!
Thanks for popping by today :-)

TSG MOABH - Happy Mail

 MOABH Reader Blinkie

Welcome to the 2nd annual Mother of All Blog Hops sponsored by There She Goes Clears Stamps! If you’ve arrived here from Lee Murphy's blog, then you are in the right spot!If not,you will want to start back on the There She Goes team blog in order to find out what you need to do to be eligible for the prizes we are offering!  (valued at approximately $400!!!)

For my card today, I've used the sets called "Special Delivery" and "My Little Friend".  I wanted to show the versatility of the TSG sets in that you have the ability to combine so many sets to make a fantastic card.   My inspiration came from the new MME paper "Lime Twist: Fly a Kite" line that I managed to snag at my local stamp store yesterday.  Perfecto, I tell ya!! I think it was fate.... The images were stamped (had to do a little masking as well) using Versafine Onyx Black ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. I then watercolored the image using my Tombow Markers. The layout has been inspired by this month's Sketch for You to Try over at Jen del Muro's blog. (I say inspired because I changed the bottom circle to a rectangle to fit my sentiment and added a cloud to cover up a little boo-boo).

Now hop on over to Judy Rozema's blog for more amazing eye candy!!!

Got Wine?

Happy National Scrapbooking Day, Skipping Stones Design style!! We have put together a Blog Hop with our past and current FABULOUS designers.  I'm so honoured to be invited back as part of the SSD crew for this blog hop!!

For my scrapbook page today (can I just say I am soooooo not a  scrapbooker so this was no easy feat...), I decided to use an old photo of my hubby and I taken the summer after we got engaged at the Childress Vineyards in North Carolina. I've used the SSD set called Margarita Birthday which appropriately had the wine glass (is it half empty or half full....) and stamped it down the side of the page with Close to Cocoa ink.  I then used various sentiments from the set above and below the photo.

Hop along and see all the fabulous Scrapbook pages made with Skipping Stones Design stamps!!! I promise you will like what you see!!!!

Keep hopping along, run off to Wendy's blog!!

Leave a comment on each blog (some are giving away prizes) and when you have finished, go back to the beginning at Skipping Stones Design and leave a comment, telling us what you thought of the hop. One lucky commenter will be chosen Wednesday, May 11th to win the Skipping Stones Design may release stamp set!!!

RCC1 - Inspirational Ribbon...

See that badge??? Isn't it cool? Yup, Corinna McGregor has started a Challenge blog called the Ribbon Carousel Challenge Blog in honour of her Ribbon Carousel which is a fabulously amazing Ribbon Storage System (which I must say is the best ever for ribbon lovers like me).  And guess what!!! Corinna has not only asked me to be on the design team but to be the "First Mate" aka Team Co-ordinator and I must admit this is an honour considering the rockstar Design Team that Corinna has assembled to be the "Carousel Crew".

Today is the first week of the challenges and Tuesday will be our "Challenge" day on a weekly basis.

For this week's challenge, we want you to get "Inspired".  The Ribbon Carousel is gorgeous!! So we've decided to see what inspires you by it.

Is it the Black, white, and a pop of colour?  Is it the ribbons on the Carousel (monochromatic)? Or those polkadots?  Or even a combination of the colours?

Can you tell what inspired me?   LOL... I love colour and I rarely shy away from it... I love the bright vibrant ribbons in the inspirational photo combined with the polkadots as well as the stripes.  So I pulled out some older Echo Park DP, this cute Stella called "Suck it up" from Stamping Bella and coloured her up with my Tombow Markers.  If you know me at all, you'll know that I use the phrase "Suck it up Princess" on a regular basis so this Stella is definitely me.  I thought this would be a fun card for someone who needs a little bit of encouragement.  And of course, I used my handy dandy Baker's Twine on my card (after all, this is a Ribbon Challenge blog so you knew it was going to be somewhere).  The layout has come from this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge that I have flipped on it's side so that I could use this image.

*** Please remember that your creation must have ribbon, bakers twine, jute twine, lace (basically anything that comes on a spool).

We’d love for you to participate!!! Make sure you link up with us using InLinkz at the bottom of the post on the Ribbon Carousel Challenge Blog. If you are uploading to an only gallery make sure you use the keyword RC1.  Remember – that you don’t need a blog to participate in our challenge.  Each week we will have a “Top Spool” !!

TSG105 Flower Fun

May.... I can't believe it's May already....  And with all those showers we had in April, I'm sure there will be plenty of pretty flowers in May here.  Let's hope so anyway!!!  And what better way to celebrate May with flowers... 3D flowers, that is!  This week's challenge at There She Goes is brought to us by Tammy, one of our new Trendsetters and can I say one thing?  That girl has talent!!!  She wants to see your use of gorgeous and versatile 3D flowers. You can use poofy flowers, diecut flowers, Primas, felt, or crocheted flowers…let your imaginations run wild! We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

I've been using a lot of 3D flowers lately so I decided, I wanted to something a little different and so some clean and simple stamping.  I followed this week's sketch over at the Clean and Simple Blog (aka Fall to Layouts) although I put my sentiment in the lower right hand corner instead of the upper left.  Just had to be a rebel.... LOL... Actually, I had looked at the sketch yesterday and in my silly little head I was certain the sentiment was in the lower corner.  Oops.... I've stamped various flowers from the TSG set called "Polka Dot Blooms" in SU Inks (Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise, Soft Sky, Old Olive and Pink Piroutte).  I then added a sentiment from the set called "Everyday Greetings".  I stamped the Old Olive flower again and embossed it with clear embossing powder before cutting it out and popping it up (that's my 3D flower). To add a bit of interest, I decided to add a little bit of bling to the center of each of the flowers.  Love it!!

We'd love for you to participate in this challenge.  All you need to do is create a card using 3D flowers and link it up using the InLinkz at the TSG blog.  If you upload to an online gallery, remember to use the keyword TSG105.  Don't forget that the random winner will win $5 to the TSG store and someone has the opportunity to be in the Trendsetting Spotlight.

On another note, don't forget about the "Out with the Old" Sale.  This is a great way to get previously released sets at a discount and who doesn't love a discount?

Thanks for dropping by and have a wonderful day.
