I'm a trendy girl...Baker's Twine

I'll admit it, I like trends and there are some that come and go but this one, I know I'll use as long as it's around. What is it you ask???  BAKER'S TWINE!!! I'm loving it! On Wednesdays at the TSG Blog, the Trendsetter of the Week comes up with Tips and Tricks or a Trend.  I chose to go with Trends (my first order of Baker's Twine arrived from The Twinery last Friday and I couldn't wait to dig into it.

Aren't those colors just divine?? I'm loving the shades and I noticed that they match some of the SU Cardstock as well as a lot of DP that I have. Make sure you check out the projects I made with it on the TSG Blog!!

Now what can you do with Twine?  So many things!!  I've only touched the tip of the iceberg and I've seen a lot of cute things that I  know I'll be trying it out.

TSG80 Make a Scene

Hey there ladies!!  Guess what... It's my turn as the Trendsetter of the Week at There She Goes so you'll be seeing a lot of me this week!!  Just means more eye candy for you, that's all!! And hopefully some inspiration as well.  For this week's challenge, I'm challenging you to "Make a Scene".  One thing that drew me to There She Goes stamps is how well the sets can be used in conjunction with one another.  I'll be honest though, I haven't mixed them together enough which is why I came up with this challenge.

For my card, I decided to use one of the new sets called "Snowy Days" (my fave set of all time from There She Goes) and "Treemendous".  I wanted to make the snowboarding dog to look like he was making a jump. Okay.... okay... I'm not a snowboarder so I don't know the lingo... Is it "taking air"?  Flying?  Who knows... I sure don't.  I first stamped the tree in Frayed Burlap Distress Ink and Versamark and then embossed it with Irridescent Ice from SU.  (It's glittery IRL but doesn't show well in the pic).  I then sponged the background with Soft Sky, Bermuda Bay and Not Quite Navy. I cut some Vellum and some DP and then tore the edges to make it look like mounds of snow.  The edge of each of the vellum and DP have been sponged with either Soft Sky (vellum)  or Bermuda Bay (DP). I then put some Diamond Stickles on the edge of that to add a bit more dimension.  I've watercolored the snowboarding dog with my Watercolor pencils and then cut it out and popped it up.  The clouds were made from felt and with the Clouds Die-namic from MFT.

FS196 Got Sniffles?

I'm back... twice in one day if you can believe it!!! I rarely do the Featured Stamper challenge at SCS but when I saw that it was the super sweet and awesome Tobi Crawford aka jazzytobi I decided I HAD to play.  I had the honor of meeting Tobi last month when she came to an event that my BFF Kim and I were hosting.  All I can say is that Tobi is an absolute sweetheart and talent exudes from her. Tobi has such an amazing gallery that it was hard to choose but I eventually decided to case this card.  The rules of the Featured Stamper challenge are that you have to change two or more things so here it goes: the things I changed were: DP, image, shape of card.  I have watercolored one of the images from the recent release at Clear Dollar Stamps called Get Well Critters. Yup - you've seen the turtle before but it's just so darn cute that I wanted to use it again.  The image has been watercolored with Watercolor pencils. 

I noticed this week that one of my stamping idols is back creating, yeah!!! I've so missed "The Spotted Chick - Jeanie Whitmer" and her amazing eye candy!!! I've almost missed "That's Krafty Thursday" with my love of Kraft, I had to play with this week's "That's Krafty Thursday" Challenge.

MTSC98 I thought of you

I know my life can be busy but this week was out of this world busy. I had to go to some work related events two evenings this week which tuckered me out and by the time I got home I wasn't in the mood to make any cards.  But I had seen Mercy's sketch challenge on Monday night and I've been wanting to play with it ever since. I also noticed that this week's challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges is to make a square card - check!!  I woke up early this morning and got busy with "Gracie Lollipop" by Lori Boyd. Isn't she just so precious?  I've watercolored her with my Watercolor pencils and am loving them!!! I know I've been saying that this last week or so but my pencils are quickly becoming my number 1 coloring choice. Who ever thought that my Tombows would take a back seat to anything right?  The DP is from My Mind's Eye and I love the glittery look to it. You know me, I love my BLING!!  The sentiment is from a freebie set from MFT (I'll look for the link later).  I'm heading out the door shortly to meet someone but I wanted to quickly get this card posted because I'll be gone a few hours.  Then I'm home for a crafty weekend!!!

MOJO163 What's the Buzz?

It's been so long since I've had the opportunity to play in one of the Mojo Monday challenges but I had bought a stamp from Stamp Barn's Line called Roly Poly Designs (this one is called Bea) that I'd beeen itching to use and was waiting for just the right layout so that I could play with it.  This image was so easy to watercolor with my Derwent Inktense Pencils and other watercolor pencils and I was done in no time. The sentiment is from the There She Goes set, Bee Happy.  This card came together so quickly as it's very clean and simple for me.  Love it!!!  I checked out more of the Roly Poly line and I can tell you I'll be getting more for sure!!! They're so cute!

MFT Supply and Demand

Hey there - It's Guest Designer Challenge time over at My Favorite Things so I decided I'd throw my name into the mix so you know what that means... I had to make a card... Twist my arm right? Just Kidding!! I was totally in a crafty mood on Sunday (I was delaying carving the pumpkins) so I pulled out the PI Image,  Apple for You.  This month's GD Challenge is to bring out the office supplies.  So I decided that I wanted to use Cork with the Jumbo Scallop Die (who doesn't have a bulletin board in their office right?) and the Notebook Edge Die from MFT as well.  I'm kinda wishing I had some ledger paper but no such luck.  The DP is from October Afternoon, Echo Park and Cosmo Cricket (thank goodness for DP).  I've watercolored the PI with Watercolor pencils (have I mentioned how much I am loving them right now???  LOVE THEM!!!
