YNS So Sorry!!! I feel like a ....

Hahahahahaha..... Okay, I can't help but smile looking at this "So Sorry Donkey" from Your Next Stamp. As soon as I saw the current Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge, I knew I had to use this stamp.  It's been a long time fave of mine but it hadn't seen any ink yet.  I have stamped the image in Versafine Onyx Black, embossed with clear embossing powder and then watercolored with Tombow Markers.

My month of being the Guest Designer at Your Next Stamp is quickly coming to a close :-(  I've had so much fun as their guest designer this month!!! Thanks ladies!!!

YNS Challenge # 2 - Summer time!!

This week the challenge at Your Next Stamp is a theme....SUMMER!!! How easy is that???!!! You can interpret it any way you would like, summer colors, stamps, foods, etc., etc., etc.
For my card, I decided to use the set called BBQ Box Scene that was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black and then embossed with clear embossing powder. I really wanted to create a high contrast card so I kept it simple with the black, red and white theme.
YNS' stamps are not required to play along, but we would love to see you ink 'em up.

Link up your SUMMER project at the end of this post by next Wednesday, June 21, 2012.

You are also welcome to link your project to our SCS Forum and into the SCS gallery using the keyword YNSC2. Plus, if you use a YNS product then add the keywords YNS and yournextstamp.

One random winner will receive a $10.00 gift certificate to the YNS store.

PLUS if you use YNS stamps on your project you may just be choosen as our monthly Rockin' YNS Guest Designer. Wouldn't you love to see you name in the spotlight and win a YNS prize pack???!!! Check out all the details in the SCS forum HERE!!!

You're going places

*** If you are looking for my iSpy card, please scroll down***

Each Friday at Your Next Stamp, the girls do something they call "Fun Friday" on the YNS blog. It's quite neat to see what the girls come up with and I couldn't wait to ink up this world traveler LOL!!! from the set called "Celebrate the Journey".  For some reason, he reminds me of the Aflac duck.  I'm sorry if all you hear the rest of the day is "Aflac".  Oops!!!  I have stamped the image in Versafine Onyx Black, embossed it with clear embossing powder and then I have watercolored with Tombow Markers.  One of the reasons I like to emboss the image is because it creates a bit of a dam so that it makes it harder for the color to go over the lines.  The fishtails I have created on my card are all the rage these days - to get a bit of extra dimension, I sponged the edges of them with Chocolate Chip ink.  I also curled the edges a bit to make them look not so flat.  The layout for my card comes from the current CPS sketch.

Thanks for popping by to check out my "Fun Friday" post.

Your Next Stamp Sneak Peek

If you are looking for my TSG Challenge post, please scroll down :-)

I'm rocking it this month at Your Next Stamp and today I'm rocking the sneak peeks.  :-)

Today, I'm highlighting the set called "Spring/Summer Globe Accessories".

For my card, I was inspired by this older Cosmo Cricket DP that for some reason reminds me of the sea.  Maybe, it's the loose wave like pattern, not totally sure.  I have stamped a few different images from the Spring/Summer Globe Accessories in Versafine Onyx Black, embossed with clear embossing powder and then watercolored with Tombow Markers.  I then added some Diamond Stickles to the "bubbles".  These images are just too darn cute.

I'll be using some of the other new images for my Blog Hop project in just a couple days from now.

In the mean time, Before you go be sure to mark your calendars for June 5th! You're invited to our SCS Release Party and Blog Hop! Lots of FUN and PRIZES!!! It all starts in our SCS Forum at 8pm EST!

YNS Meets ISSC18

Another quiet week on my blog... I took a small break from stamping this week to deal with life... I've been on the job hunt for a few months now and I finally feel like things have turned a corner and hopefully good things are coming my way.  It was one of those weeks where it was make cards or get my rear in gear and get some more resumes etc out there.  And the job hunt won...

But enough about my life... I have some fun stuff going on this month!!! I've been asked to be this month's guest designer at Your Next Stamp.  Eeks!!! I'm so excited that I get to be a part of supporting a Canadian company.

I'm loving this graphic!!! Hehehehe. Too cute!!!

Because I'm being revealed as the guest designer today, I decided to combine my announcement with my iSpy card.  This weeks sketch,  ISSC18 is from LeAnne Pugliese ( LeAnne Pugliese @ SCS) and is based on this card

For my card, I decided to use "Vacation Don" that I think is way too cute!!!

I told you he's cute!!! LOL!!! Gotta love a bear in a convertible with a surfboard in tow.  I have stamped the image in Versafine Onyx Black, embossed with clear embossing powder and then I watercolored the image with Tombow Markers.  Easy Peasy!!! The sentiment comes from the YNS set called "Seasonal Icons One".

As part of "Your Next Stamp", the ladies do what is called "Fun Friday"  where the DT provides extra info about how we stamp etc.  My Fun Friday tip/trick is to let you know "Don't be afraid to combine different companies' DP on your cards".  I am a sucker for DP especially in 6x6 pads.  Most people use only one pad for their cards, but I like to mix it up to make my cards stand out.  It makes your card a little bit different.  On my card, I have some older Cosmo Cricket, My Mind's Eye and Fancy Pants Design.  All of the colors "go together" to create a cohesive look.  Cool eh?

Onto the iSpy info:

RCC48 Hopping with Your Next Stamp

This week we’re hopping with our sponsor, Your Next Stamp’s Designers to bring you TONS of inspiration using this week’s challenge sketch and the adorable stamps from YNS!  Our fabulous designer, Debbie Carriere, has provided both teams, AND YOU, with a fun sketch to play with this week.

I fell in love with Your Next Stamp a couple of months ago when I was the Guest Designer at Sketch for You to Try (YNS was our sponsor), so I was really excited when I found out we'd be pairing up with them for this challenge.

I LOVE this stamp!!! It's called "Mother Hen" and it also has an amazing sentiment that it can be paired with.  I stamped the image with Versafine Onyx Black and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I then watercolored the image with Tombow Markers.  The DP is from one of the new My Mind's Eye lines called "Fiddlesticks" that I paired with  Black Jute Twine from the Ribbon Carousel.
We are excited to have Your Next Stamp as our sponsor this week!  Your Next Stamp offers a wonderful variety of fun and whimsical rubber stamps and dies.  Karen is offering up a discount to all of the players here at The Ribbon Carousel Challenge Blog!  Thanks so much Karen!!

Believe me when I say you'll spend quite awhile checking out YNS.
The Challenge: Use the sketch above and enter your card at the Ribbon Carousel Challenge Blog by next Monday at 11:59pm EST.  Details on the blog.
The Blog Hop : Visit each of the designers below.  Leave a comment on each blog. End at the Ribbon Carousel blog and enter your name in the Inlinkz! You have until Friday 11:59pm EST to complete the hop.  Winners will be announced on Saturday!
What can I win if I hop?: One (1) $25 gift certificate from Ribbon Carousel or One (1) $10 gift certificate from Your Next Stamp.
Here are the designers participating!  Good luck and enjoy the hop! (It's an all-star line-up if I do say so myself).

ISSC06 You're the cat's Meow!!

This week at ISpy Sketches we are featuring this geometric card by Patter Cross (identicaltriplets at SCS) that was posted in her SCS Gallery on January 20th, 2012.

We love that you can switch up the hexagon shapes to any other and that this sketch lends itself to being more on the clean and simple side of the spectrum :D I don't have anything hexagon shape, so I took the easy way out (Surprise...) and used circles instead.  Yeah!!!

Isn't Marble the Mouse from Your Next Stamp just way too cute?  I heart him!!  I saw a card a few months ago (can't remember whose blog it was on) but I loved it so I had to order this cute little guy.  I've stamped the image with Versafine Onyx Black and then embossed with clear embossing powder.  I then watercolored the image with my Tombow Markers.  Marble's eyes were coated with Glossy Accents.  The DP mainly comes from the Echo Park "A Boy's Life" collection and the Black Jute Twine is from the Ribbon Carousel.  The sentiment I paired it with is from MFT and is one of their Flapper Doodles (discontinued).  I'm also entering my card into Jeanie Whitmer's "That's Krafty Thursday" challenge.  Have I ever mentioned I heart Jeanie Whitmer?

We'd love for you to participate with us at Ispy Sketches this week!!

Here's how to play:
  • Create a paper crafting project (card, scrap book page or 3D item), based on the sketch provided.
  • Post your creation on your blog or an online gallery (using a code ISSC06). Please provide a direct link to your post - not the generic link to your blog.

SFYTT Full of Joy

OMG!!! As this post goes live, I'm having a great time in Washington state with a great group of girls, stamping in our pj's and I'm sure laughing our butts off.  I promise there will be a full re-cap of the trip when I get home along with pics!!!

I've made this card for this month's SFYTT using the Your Next Stamp set called "Seasonal Icons 1".  The image has been stamped in Versafine Onyx Black and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I have then watercolored the image with my Tombow Markers.  As you can tell.... I flipped the sketch again!! Surprise, surprise!! LOL... For the cups on the right hand side of the card, I've used a MS punch that had coffee cups with whip cream on top.  I've cut the whip cream part off to make the more like the cups in the stamped image.

Hope you like it!! Have a fab day!

SFYTT Bee Mine

Yeah!!! My "Your Next Stamps" order arrived earlier this week and I couldn't wait to make a card with this month's Sketch for You to Try. Your Next Stamps is the sponsor at SFYTT this month and as this month's Guest Designer I get to play with their stamps too. Yeah!!! I was disappointed that I didn't have them for the first card this month but I'm delighted to use them for this card. When I opened up the stamps, I was incredibly impressed with the quality of "Your Next Stamps".  Phenomenal!!! I know I'll be placing an order soon for some fun goodies.  The image I have used on this card is from the fabby set called "Seasonal Icons 1". The image has been stamped in Versafine Onyx Black and embossed with clear embossing powder. I then watercolored the image with my Tombow Markers. I paper pieced the hearts (one of the SFYTT girls did it on their card and I love the look) and I've also added some Diamond Stickles to the bee's wings for a bit of extra dimension. Isn't that DP fabulous? I made a trip to Parksville to Scrapbookin' Adventures the other day (our closest scrapbook store) and found this fabulous Pebbles DP. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. It's been awhile since I've had DP that I just "had" to have. The twine on my buttons is Black Jute Twine from the Ribbon Carousel.

Don't forget you have all month to play along with this month's Sketch for You to Try.

Did you see the fun announcement on Jen's blog today? Karen of Your Next Stamps is offering up some fun for SFYTT participants.
